Great Divide Mountain Bike Route
The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route is one of the longest off-pavement cycling routes in the world — roughly 2,700 miles closely following the Continental Divide from Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells, New Mexico at the US-Mexico border.
Developed and maintained by the Adventure Cycling Association, the GDMBR passes through Alberta, British Columbia, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico, crossing some of the most remote and spectacular terrain in North America.
The route: 70% dirt and gravel, 25% paved, 5% technical trails. Everything from gnarly singletrack and rugged four-wheel-drive roads to Forest Service roads, BLM land, and quiet rural highways. Total elevation gain over the full route exceeds 200,000 feet.
How we're riding it: We've tackled the GDMBR in stages over two years, completing the northern sections first. In June 2026 we ride the final leg — northbound from Antelope Wells to Breckenridge, Colorado.
